Humanity needs a clear, compelling vision of an equitable, sustainable economy that brings a high quality of life for everyone–a dynamic economy of the people, by the people and for the people. PROUT stands for the Progressive Utilization Theory, formulated by the Indian thinker Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar (1922-1990), that is based on the maximum utilization and rational distribution of all physical, mental and spiritual resources, for the welfare of everyone. Based on the ethics of spiritual values, PROUT promotes ecological protection and sustainable development through cooperatives.
Dada is a yogic monk, activist, writer and the founder of the PROUT Research Institute of Venezuela. Since becoming a monk in Ananda Marga, Maheshvarananda has taught meditation, yoga and the Progressive Utilization Theory (PROUT) globally. He is the author of several books, including After Capitalism: Economic Democracy in Action (available for purchase at the Ashram, highly recommended to get the most of of Dada's presentation) and Cooperative Games for a Cooperative World: Facilitating Trust, Communication and Spiritual Connection. You will enjoy his warm, humorous and humble approach that makes complex subjects simple and relevant to daily life.
